Heiner came to Potsdam in February 2023 to build a frame for his wife, and he sent us some pictures of the finished bike a few weeks ago. Nice color, don’t you think? He took a few minutes to answer our questions about his course at Big Forest Frameworks….
How did you first get the idea to build your own frame?
I have always built my own bikes up myself, also for my friends. The next step was to actually build the frame myself. I had been thinking about it for a long time.
Why did you decide to build this frame? What do you want to do with it?
I actually built the frame for my wife. She gave me the course as a present. She now has to live with the consequences, and ride this bike! She rides it regularly, and has even done a few alpine passes with it. And I am sure there are many more to come!
What is special to you about this frame?
There is only one of them, and I could decide exactly how I wanted it to be.
How was your time in your frame building?
The course was alot of fun! I learned quite a bit (and already forgot half of it), Robert and Konrad were very patient with me.
How does your bike ride?
My wife says that it rides better than her old Carbon bike. And at 8,3kg it is also lighter!
