How did you find me, and how did you hear about the frame building courses?
The contact with Robert and Big Forest first came about at a bike fair in Berlin in 2020.
How did you come up with the idea of building your own frame?
I have been cycling for many years and racing for nearly 40 years. I have always carried out all repairs and assemblies myself. After I learned about the possibility of a frame building course at a bike fair in Berlin in 2020, it immediately sparked my interest. Since I can now arrange my time a bit more flexibly, I enrolled in a frame building course in the fall of 2020.
Why did you choose this frame? What do you plan to do with it?
At first, I wanted to use the various components I had accumulated over the years for this bike. Thus, only a classic lugged steel frame was an option. In the end, however, everything turned out to be high-quality new parts with a special paint job on the frame, which really enhances the bike. I ride this bike mostly in nice weather and just for fun.
What is special to you about your self-built frame?
The special aspect of this frame is, of course, my own craftsmanship under Robert’s professional guidance and the complete construction using classic components.
How was your time in the frame building course?
The frame building course was very pleasant and relaxed. I was able to learn a lot, all in a very relaxed atmosphere.
How does your finished bike ride?
The bike rides very pleasantly. The dimensions are well chosen, and of course, it is something special to ride with such a one-of-a-kind piece.
