Jakob came to Potsdam at the beginning of 2022, and he was the first one to build a frame for fully integrated cable routing (the cable run though the bars, stem, down tube, and out of the frame near the rear brake). The bike is finished, and wow!!!
How did you come up with the idea to build your own frame?
Actually I wasn’t so interested in the finished product. I wanted to make something, and take a break from my daily life
Why did you decide to build this bike? What do you plan to do with it?
I wanted to combine the looks of a classic steel bike built up with modern components. I was the first one to build a frame for fully integrated cables in the start of 2022.
What is special about the frame that you built?
It’s actually not really that special….
How was your time in your frame building course?
Awesome! Burgers for lunch in the workshop and the week went by so fast + my hands were wasted from the work!
How does your bike ride?
I own a few high end bikes and didn’t really expect too much. But the first ride was like a dream. Very stiff, but still comfortable.
How did you find out about our courses?
Saw you on YouTube. An astrophysicist from the US that ‘wanted to work with his hands’!
