From Workshop to the End of the World

A little over a year ago, Jurriaan walked into the workshop to build his own bike frame in our 5-Day Frame Building Course. Not long after, he and his wife set off on an incredible journey—riding from the Netherlands to Portugal, then flying to Brazil and continuing all the way south to Ushuaia, Argentina.

12,000 kilometers later, he sent us this amazing photo from the end of the world, along with a few words about his adventure.

Here’s what he had to say:

Dear Robert, how are you doing? I hope fine. I mail you to tell we reached Ushuaia a few days ago. The end of the world! After 12.000 km of cycling and 11 months we are about to go home. We started in the Netherlands and cycled to Portugal. From there we flew to Belo Horizonte in Brazil. From there we cycled to Argentina, Chili and Argentina again to finally reach Ushuaia. It has been a wonderful experience! And even more so because of the bike we build together.

During the trip there were no troubles what so ever concerning the bike. Not even one puncture ! And that after hundreds of km of gravel and ripio! I changed the chain and cassette just once. And even more important, I did not experienced a single ache of pain in the body ! Never.
A lot of fellow travelers were experiencing all kinds of aches. Especially the knees, wrists, Neck, back and hands. With top of the bill bikes. (The price doesn’t say anything about the fit off course!).
Best,
Jurriaan
